Introducing Active Staking Rewards: A New Way to Participate in Marinade Governance
MIP‑13: Active Staking Rewards is now live for voting on Realms. The proposal introduces a 25M MNDE reward pool for governance participants in 2025, with rewards distributed based on voting activity. If passed, the program aims to encourage consistent, accessible DAO participation.

A new governance proposal — MIP‑13: Active Staking Rewards (ASR) — will soon be published on Realms for community voting. This proposal introduces a new reward mechanism for MNDE holders who actively participate in Marinade DAO governance throughout 2025.
If passed, ASR would allocate 25 million MNDE to be distributed among voters, based on their participation across the year. The goal is to strengthen DAO engagement, reward consistency, and make governance more accessible to all MNDE holders.
How ASR Works
At the core of the proposed program is a transparent, point-based system. Every time a wallet votes on a governance proposal, it earns participation points:
- Points = Voting power × Number of proposals voted in
- The more frequently and meaningfully you participate, the more points you earn
- At the end of 2025, the full 25M MNDE pool would be distributed pro rata, based on total points accumulated
Participation would not require staking, delegation, or interacting with additional contracts. To qualify, voters would simply need to:
- Hold MNDE in their wallet at the time of each vote
- Cast their votes on proposals via Realms
This simplicity is intentional — reducing barriers to participation while maintaining the integrity and transparency of on-chain voting.
A Quick Example
Suppose a wallet votes with 1,000 MNDE across four governance proposals. That would generate 4,000 participation points. If the community collectively earns 100,000 points across the year, that wallet would receive 4% of the reward pool — or 1 million MNDE.
Why This Matters
MIP‑13 builds on broader community conversations around MNDE utility and DAO engagement. It complements MIP‑11, which allocates protocol revenue toward MNDE buybacks, by introducing a second mechanism focused on governance participation.
Together, these proposals aim to:
- Encourage consistent, long-term participation in governance
- Provide a clear and predictable framework for contributor recognition
- Make it easier for a broader set of MNDE holders to take part in DAO decisions
This is part of Marinade’s broader evolution in incentive design — one that emphasizes accountability, contribution, and community-led ownership.
