Following the completion of the first earn season in January, Marinade is bringing back MNDE rewards to stakers. The second edition is officially live with retroactive rewards for stakers starting on January 1st, 2024.

After a successful Earn Season 1 that grew SOL staked with Marinade by over 2 million, it’s time to keep it going with Season 2.

This second season has a few new wrinkles. Here are the details:

What’s new in Earn Season 2?

Dates: Season 2 began on January 1, 2024 and runs through March 31st

MNDE Available: 25M MNDE has been unlocked via the  Marinade DAO proposal  for Season 2. (Unused to be sent back).

The  Rewards: Base rewards for mSOL and Native stakers are  1 MNDE per 2 SOL staked for the full duration of the campaign Jan. 1 — March 31.

Minimum Rewards needed: A minimum of 1 MNDE must be earned from SOL stake during the campaign to be able to claim rewards.

Snapshots: The protocols included in snapshots are the same as in Season 1 should they integrate the rewards into their platform’s UI. Those eligible to be snapshotted are: Solend, MarginFi, Meteora, Mango, Drift (and SuperStake SOL), Raydium, Orca, Lifinity, Kamino, and Saber. Snapshots also work for those who use Directed Stake to validators to receive additional incentives.

Native Referrals suspended: In Season 1, only 300k MNDE was earned via the Native referral campaign. Marinade is suspending the Native referral program as it caused confusion and did not generate a lot of additional stake.

Earn Bonuses: Marinade has special MNDE bonuses earmarked for certain participants of Marinade over the years (Governors, Validators, and others.). These bonuses will be revealed at various times during the campaign as a thank-you for loyalty.

Coming to Marinade in Q1 2024

Protected Staking Rewards: Marinade is rolling out Protected Staking Rewards to its delegation strategy. This is a first-of-its-kind program that will keep Marinade as the highest-performing and decentralized validator set on Solana. Marinade stakers will earn staking rewards from an algorithmic performance strategy, MEV tips, and once PSR rolls out will have downside performance protection.

New Delegation Strategy: Marinade has also been working on an all-new delegation strategy to support even more validators and improve the performance of the overall pool. Stay tuned to the DAO forum for details very soon.

MNDE Earn Season 1 Summary

Marinade is distributing around 10M MNDE as a result of Season 1. This three-month campaign drove about 3M additional SOL TVL spread between mSOL (1.4M) and Native (1.6M). About the MNDE token

MNDE is the governance token of the Marinade DAO. It launched in October, 2021 as a fair launch token with no VC investment or ICO. Holders of MNDE can lock the token in Realms governance to participate in DAO votes, control the DAO treasury, and use it to vote for validators to receive a portion of Marinade’s SOL stake. The goal for MNDE is to distribute tokens only from contributions to the DAO or the TVL of the protocol.
